What we all need, good luck and much fortune

When the new challenge was announced at CASology I just knew it was an opportunity to use this Lucky cat image from DapperBob that I absolutely love, the cat has been added to the card with dimensional foam to make the cat stand out. I added a chinese coin to the cat's necklace and then followed the shape of the coin for the background the cat is placed on. A simple fun card that can be used for a variety of occassions.

Something a little bit different

I decided to try my hand at very simple water colouring and did the background using my aqua textas. The sentiment was printed directly onto the cardstock after the water colour background was done, lastly I stuck on the paper tulips and twisted the stems so that the tulips are leaning forward. So much fun trying something new, I'm glad I gave this a go.

HEY THERE FOXY

Hope everyone has had a good start to their week, my Monday went better than I expected so I'm happy. Today I am just sharing a simple card on which I paper pieced the head and tail of the fox. The fox is a such a great image that I purchased from KennaSatoDesigns and the trees are by the same designer. Make sure to check out this shop as there are so many great images at really good prices.

Sunday blogging is so much fun

I am having so much fun blogging again, it might take sometime for my blogging friends to realize that I am back but it will happen. This is a fun card that I made using a great image from Dorky Prints, a fantastic etsy shop with so many great images. The background circle  is a simple water scene and I have used my favorite paper piecing method to make the tail and hair stand out. There will be many more mermaid cards to come. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday xx

CACTUS IS EVERYWHERE

Everywhere I go these days I find cactus related items so I had to join in the fad and create a Cactus themed card. On this card I printed the Cactus image in a large size, the image has been purchased from KennaSatoDesigns and is available on Etsy. I paper pieced the cactus by cutting out sections of the cactus and creating a fold in the middle of each piece that has stuck to the original image. The sentiment has been done using Bleeding Cowboys font. I have left plenty of white space to make the cactus the focal point and to give the card a CAS look.

DREAM BIG

I know dreamcatchers have become so much part of popular culture these days but traditionally they have so much significance in Native American culture. A dreamcatcher is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. The dreamcatcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads. Traditionally they are often hung over cradles as protection.

On this card I have made the dreamcatcher the focal point of the card, the image has been designed by KennaSatoDesigns  and is available on Etsy. I have paper pieced some of the feathers to add dimension and movement. The background is a simple watercolour background and the sentiment Dream Big has been done using Bleeding Cowboys font. I have added a diamante to the center of the dreamcatcher.

THE KING OF POP LIVES ON

This is another card that I have been wanting to make for sometime. Michael Jackson is another one of  my favourite singers, I love his music and I have to admit that when he passed away I couldn't get out of bed for two days, I  had always wanted to see him in concert but I never got the chance, I do however listen to his music all the time and he will always live on with his songs that everyone knows.

On this card the background features the song titles of Michael Jackson's songs. The  background was created on the website Wordle that randomized the titles in all different directions and sizes in the shape of a vinyl record, I am going to have lots of fun using this program. The Michael Jackson image is from HandMade by HandMek an etsy shop featuring lots of great digital images. The hat  and glove have been paper pieced to add dimension to the card and I also added a Bokeh background to add some sparke to the card.

LET'S DANCE WITH DAVID BOWIE

This is a card I have been wanting to make for sometime and finally it's made. I absolutely love David Bowie, I have  jewellery and clothing that feature the Starman himself. He was an amazing artist who wasn't scared to push boundaries and his music was totally unique, I wish he was still around to entertain us but it's not to be, his music will always live on.

On this card the background features the song titles of David Bowie's songs. The  background was created on an the website Wordle that randomized the titles in all different directions and sizes, I am going to have lots of fun using this program. The David Bowie image is from HandMade by HandMek an etsy shop featuring lots of great digital images. The head and boots have been paper pieced to add dimension to the card.

A SIMPLE MONDAY NIGHT CARD

hi everyone,

I was determined to make a card today, the first card on my new blog. This simple card was inspired by one of my favouite songs from when I was growing up being "You've Got The Right Stuff" by New Kids On The Block, such a fun and funky song that holds many happy memories. The note pad paper was a free download, I cut out the squares individually to make it look more like note paper and the pencils are digital stamps that I have matted  have been purchased from Sandia Design on Etsy.
